Creative Director

My name is Alex “APyah” Pillow and I’m from Apex, NC (just outside of Raleigh). Currently living in Boone, NC and attending Appalachian State University where I plan on recieving my BFA Graphic Design in May of 2021.

Heavily influenced by music, as well as pop culture, fashion, and current trends. I take my interests and observe how they’ve influenced society, how they’ve changed, and try to think about where they can be taken through art and design.  I work with digital mediums, printed materials (books, posters, zines, etc.), both digital and film photography, web design (HTML, CSS, Scripting) and various printing methods.

APyah stems from two things. Firstly, when I was a kid, my dad always called me AP (because of my initials), and I’ve always been fond of that. Secondly, when I made music used the name ‘Yahweh’. Not in a sacriligious way or anything ill-intended, but that explanation is for another day. So, when I stopped making music for the time being, I figured I’d take the “yah” and mash it up with “AP’ to come up with my designer/artist moniker.
